S. Jakarta Holds Palbatu Batik Festival

South Jakarta Government holds Palbatu Batik Festival 2018.

This is a meaningful moment

This festival is held along Jalan Palbatu Raya, Menteng Dalam, Tebet and participated by 20 craftsmen.

South Jakarta Mayor, Tri Kurniadi mentioned, this festival should be welcomed by every sides since batik is recognized by UNESCO as Indonesian heritage and culture.

"This is a meaningful moment because Jakarta will celebrate its 491st anniversary in this June," he conveyed on the location, Tuesday (6/5).

He hopes this festival can be a moment for people to appreciate more on batik. Palbatu Batik is an community who has contributed in bringing the greatness of Jakarta.

"In the name of Regional Government, I convey our gratitude to all sides who have supported this Palbatu Festival," he expressed.

Meanwhile, South Jakarta Tourism and Culture Sub-dept. Head, Nursyam Daoed added, at least there are 20 people participated in this Palbatu Batik Festival.

In the future, he added, his side will also hold Kerak Telor Culinary Festival, martial arts, and other Betawi culture festivals.

"I hope batik craftsmen could be developed more thus Betawi Batik can be known widely," he affirmed.
