City-Thai Exploring Cooperation in Several Sectors

Jakarta Provincial Government along with Thai Government will establish cooperation in several sectors. It is aimed to strengthen relationship between Bangkok with Jakarta.
I appreciate the development progress in Bangkok
Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat appreciates the ongoing development in Bangkok. Especially development in the field of transportation is deemed quite fast.
Bangkok Metropolitan Council Visits to Jakarta DPRD"I appreciate the development progress in Bangkok. Especially in term of transportation and facility for traditional market and river normalization," he expressed, at Jakarta City Hall, Monday (10/9).
He acknowledged, the city is currently focused on river normalization. In future, the rivers that have been normalized are hoped able to be managed like as in Bangkok for floating market management.
"We realize there are still works that must be done in Jakarta," he told.
On the other hand, Permanent Mission of Thai to ASEAN, Kittisak Klomchit said, there are some things that can be studied from Jakarta. One of them is about waste management and greening.
"I think Bangkok also needs to learn from Jakarta about greening," he expressed.
He continued, nowadays the Bangkok is still focused on development of 18 routes of Mass Rapid Transit (MRT). It is targeted to be done in seven-eight years ahead.
"In Bangkok, we also have a plan to explore LRT or monorail, as it is faster and cheaper," he closed.
