An Act No. 29/2007 on Jakarta Provincial Government as the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) needs to be revised. Two points that must be revised are Jakarta governor and vice governor must be appointed by president and state assets management in the capital, managed by Jakarta Provincial Government.
As the statement made by Acting Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama when he led a meeting on revision of Act No. 29/2007 at City Hall, Tuesday (7/22). "As the capital, must be made exclusively than the other cities. More specifically, the Jakarta governor and vice governor must be appointed by president to prevent unwanted things," he expressed.
State Assets in City must Be Managed By Jakarta Govt, Basuki SaysAccording to him, if the election in Jakarta was conducted by president, it would save the fund. The former regent of East Belitung admitted he deliberately held an interactive dialogue to evaluate the implementation and prepare the application of revision materials on Act No. 29/2007. He also can know how the public response over various ideas to revise the act. If it is accepted, he hoped the newly elected parliamentarians can help ratify the revision.
"The proposal will be included in national legislative programs for new parliamentarians. Hopefully, they can help us. Perhaps, it could be realized in 2016," he stated.
The next point is state assets management in the capital must be managed by Jakarta government. "It aims to prevent pointing fingers to each other. So, central government should hand over the management to us," he uttered.
Through such policy, he hopes, Jakarta Public Works Department can manage road repair in Jakarta. Thus, pointing fingers action can be avoided.
