Transportation Ministry Monitors Homecoming Flow in Pulogadung Terminal

To monitor how far is the preparation for homecoming flow and homecomers transportation fleets, Transportation Minister EE Mangindaan visited Pulogadung Terminal, East Jakarta, Wednesday (7/23). In this occasion, he also had a dialogue with the bus crew and homecomers as well as checked the terminal’s Eid ul Fitr fleets tabulation data room.

I’ve checked and updated the data. It turns out that everything is already in accordance to (the condition) in the field. While about the slight problem regarding Comal Bridge, they (POs) are already ready to take alternative routes

“Approximately how long is the trip for Jakarta-Semarang and how you take a rest in the middle of the trip?” asked Mangindaan to one of bus drivers.

“I don’t know yet, Sir, since there are disturbances (repair works) in Comal Bridge,” answered Suyanto, the bus driver.

Homecoming Flow in West Jakarta-Merak Still Conducive and Smooth

Regarding bus tariff, Mangindaan said that in general the tariff for economy as well as executive bus is well-controlled. But, he also asked all autobus companies (PO) not to raise tariff arbitrarily.

“I’ve checked and updated the data. It turns out that everything is already in accordance to (the condition) in the field. While about the slight problem regarding Comal Bridge, they (POs) are already ready to take alternative routes,” he uttered.

Mangindaan admitted that in this homecoming season there is an increase in traffic flows on central lane as well as south lane due to the collapsed of Comal Bridge in Pemalang, Central Java. However, the ministry has coordinated with Indonesian Police Headquarter to regulate the traffic, so traffic accident could be minimized.

During his visit, the minister was accompanied by Head of Pulogadung Terminal, Muhammad Arafat.
