Head of Transportation Dept: KIR Test Officers Don't Accept Bribe!

Head of Jakarta Transportation Department, Muhammad Akbar denies there was no cheating in the vehicle road worthiness (KIR) at the Motor Vehicle Testing (PKB) Center. If the KIR officers were receiving a bribe, pass vehicle in test and then accident happened, they would be processed legally.

"I don't believe if the KIR officers receive a bribe when they did KIR test," he asserted, Sunday (7/27).

Former Head of Transjakarta Technical Management Unit added that during KIR test, the officers checked brakes, speedometer, meter, exhaust gas, vehicle electric, whether all is working well or not, thus the testing process will be recorded.

"In every vehicle testing, the officers signing the process that has been tested, thus if the accident happens, we will summon and ask for their accountable," he expressed.

He continued that his side will also change the levy payment system on the KIR test but not cash money, by cooperating with DKI Bank.

"In future, the levy payment will not use cash money anymore," he asserted.

He disclosed his side would also control brokers. All this time, public does not believe to Jakarta Transportation Department regarding KIR test, thus they are lazy to check their vehicles.
