Ondel-ondel Festival Held in Bintaro, Be There!

Residents living in Bintaro, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta are holding Ondel-Ondel Bintaro Jilid 2 Festival.
This festival is an effort to preserve the art of Betawi culture
It is staged along Jalan Bintaro Taman Barat for two days, precisely on August 25-26, 2018.
South Jakarta Mayor, Marullah Matali appreciates the festival committees who have held it twice.

He hoped that it could have a broad impact on the Bintaro people in the economic aspect.
"It's hoped to be one of the tourist destinations that can be proud of Jakarta," he hoped.
In the meantime, Festival Coordinator, Dhani added that it was initiated by the Bintaro residents through Karang Taruna. By so, all components of the Bintaro residents are hoped to unite harmoniously to preserve the traditional Betawi cultural arts.
"Thus it still exists and is not eroded by the flow of globalization. It can even compete in this all-modern metropolitan city," he said.
Based on beritajakarta.id, there is also an activity to make the replicas of ondel-ondel masks with a total of 5,000 masks.
Those masks are used for community walking activities. Besides being filled with various Betawi cultures, the festival also held various activities of community economic empowerment through the bazaar.
