Jakarta Taxation and Retribution Agency (BPRD) welcomes Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) implementation which is expected to increase regional income from vehicle tax (PKB) and vehicle-ownership transfer fee (BBNKB) sectors.
Acting Jakarta BPRD Head, Faisal Syarifuddin mentioned, this policy can encourage people to be more orderly in vehicle ownership administration.
PKB and BBNKB Revenues Realization Reaches Rp 9.32 Trillion"People need to inform their email and mobile number while registering or re-registering their vehicles. Ticket notification will be sent to former vehicle owner if its information is not updated," he stated, Thursday (9/27).
He explained, people who violate the traffic rules are only given up to 14 days to pay the ticket fine.
"Vehicle registration certificate (STNK) can be blocked if the driver does not perform its obligation," he added.
According to UU No. 22/2009 about Traffic and Transportation, vehicle can be removed from registration and identification list if its STNK has expired for two years.
"Vehicle ownership can't be transferred if vehicle tax is not paid in two years. So, we are optimistic vehicle owners will be more orderly in taxation and administration," he conveyed.
For information, Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate will conduct ETLE trial on October 1. This trial will be held for one month on Jl. Sudirman and Jl. MH. Thamrin.
Currently, Jakarta Government through Transportation Dept. has assisted in installing poles that will be used to place Closed Circuit Television (CCTV).
