The construction project of Casa Domaine Apartment has damaged Jalan Karet Tengsin, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, due to many heavy vehicles carrying project materials always pass through the road. The damage level of the road located under Karet Tengsin Flyover towards Sudirman Park reaches 100 meters long and leads to traffic congestion.
The road is damaged is due to the passing of heavy vehicles transporting soil to the construction site which located right next to it
Based on
beritajakarta.com observations, the road’s asphalt is already chipped and perforated. This condition makes the road bumpy and causes some motorists almost fell when trying to avoid the holes. Right next to the damaged road, a number of trucks and excavators are seen passing into an empty vacant land which is under construction as Casa Domaine Apartment.“We already knew about this matter. We’ve checked the location. Indeed, the damage level is severe enough,” stated Head of Road Maintenance Section for Central Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Agustio Ruhuseto, Tuesday (8/5).
According to Ruhuseto, his party has repeatedly repaired the road by patching the holes. But, the repair did not last long because of the apartment’s construction project still ongoing.
“The road is damaged is due to the passing of heavy vehicles transporting soil to the construction site which located right next to it. Even so, we’ll repair the road again this week or next week at the latest,” he uttered.
On the other hand, Casa Domaine Apartment Project Controller, Iwan, denies the road is damaged because of heavy vehicles used in the construction works.
“Our trucks’ capacity is small, only 35-40 tons max. So, the road is damaged not because of this project,” he asserted.
He also claims that when the road was still being repaired, his party had yet to operate trucks or excavators to the project site. Those heavy vehicles began operating after the road is damaged.
