After passing through sample test, food products sold at four traditional markets and one supermarket in Central Jakarta are free of harmful substances such as formalin, chlorine, and pesticide residues.

Central Jakarta Food and Agriculture Section Head, Sunarto stated that sample test was held at Nangka Bungur Market, Serdang Market, Sumur Batu Market, Gardu Asem, and one supermarket at Jalan Cempaka Mas.

Of 261 samples, 124 out of them are agricultural products, 99 samples are fishery products, and 38 samples are livestock products.

formalin and putrefaction tests for fisheries and livestock food products. Then for agriculture products such as, rice, vegetable, and fruit have gone through test for chlorine and pesticide residue."We routinely do food safety monitoring in several traditional and modern markets," he stated.
