East Jakarta Sudinpusip Runs 'Literature and Literacy' Theme for This Month

In order to encourage literacy activities in Jakarta, Library and Archive Department creates various themes to be implemented per month in each Jakarta regions since January 2019. In March 2019, East Jakarta Sudinpusip holds Sebulan Sastra and Literasi (Serasi) or literature and literacy month.

Through this program, we want to improve people's interest in reading, particulary for millennial generation

East Jakarta Sudinpusip Head, Eka Nuretika Putra plans to fill this Serasi Month with various activities such as story writing workshop, storytelling, door-to-door storytelling, watching movie together, film review, poetry musicalization, and others.

Dispusip Continues to Improve Literacy Rate in Jakarta

"Through this program, we want to improve people's interest in reading, particulary for millennial generation," he mentioned, Saturday (3/2).

Similar program has been done in January with 'Green Literacy' program by holding activities based on the theme such as hydroponic workshop, thematic storytelling, cooking lesson for making healthy packed meal, and others.

Meanwhile, theme for February is 'Media Literacy for Smart Jakartans'. It is enlivened with journalistic literacy workshop, blog writing, storytelling for cancer fighters, and others.

"We have prepared 12 different themes for this year. Each months, we hold activities based on the theme in different public places, such as in open spaces, Maju Bersama Parks, Children-Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA)s, and offices.
