January-February 2019, City's PAD from Tourism Sector Increases

During January-February 2019, Jakarta's locally-generated revenue (PAD) which is collected from tourism sector is increasing. It is collected from all PAD's components in tourism sectors, such as hotel tax, restaurant tax, and entertainment tax.

We hope this would continue

According to Jakarta Taxation and Retribution Agency (BPRD)'s data, Jakarta earns Rp 485.17 billion in January and Rp 537.83 billion in February 2019 from tourism sector.

BPRD to Involve KPK for Optimizing Tax Revenue

"There is significant increase from January to February. We hope this will continue," said Edy Junaedy, Jakarta Tourism and Culture Department Head, Thursday (3/14).

He mentioned, last year's PAD for the same period in tourism sector was decreased. City earned Rp 511.68 billion in January 2018 and Rp 437.42 billion in February 2018. Thus achievement in January-February 2019 made his side becomes more enthusiastic to attract more tourist, both local and foreign tourists, to visit Jakarta.

"We will intensify our tourism promotion and collaborate with communities, tourism industries, and central government," he stated.

In detail, Jakarta's PAD in February 2019 is collected from restaurant tax as much as Rp 306.11 billion, entertainment tax Rp 164.73 billion, and hotel tax Rp 66.99 billion.
