371 Newcomers in Palmerah Netted During Binduk Operation

As many as 371 newcomers at RW 08 Palmerah Urban Village, Palmerah Sub-District, West Jakarta, were netted by officers of West Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department during Population Operation (Biduk), Wednesday (8/20).

Head of Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Department, Purba Hutapea explained the Binduk Operation has been ongoing since August 12, and would be held all over Jakarta areas until at the end of this year.
"West Jakarta is one of the central newcomers. This is because factory, industry, and convection business, laundry business, etc are rampant here (West Jakarta)," he told.
68,537 Newcomers Flock to JakartaHe expressed the Temporary Domicile Certificate (SKDS) would be given to newcomers who had made report, where it is valid for one year. To get it, newcomers must first carry Jakarta ID card, family card and report their home address in Jakarta.
"If they (newcomers) want to live permanently, they also have to attach the workplace. This has been our policy," he asserted.
Head of West Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Sub-Department, Ahmad Fauzi added those 371 netted newcomers consist of 224 men and 147 women. The operation itself started at 7 AM-12 PM.
"According to our rule, newcomers are obligated to report their arrival in 14 days ot two weeks. Later on, we will also do the same operation in other places gradually," he told.
Warningsih, (40), a newcomer of Pemalang, Central Java, who is processing the SKDS admitted, she is currently living at her sister's home in RT 10/08, Palmerah Urban Village. "I've been almost two week stay at my sister's home. I came to Jakarta for job in a factory," she told.
