Jokowi Instructs PT JM to Re-continue Monorail Project

Jakarta Governor, Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo instructed PT Jakarta Monorail (JM) to re-continue the development of the rail-based mass transit or monorail. Although the plan still has obstacles, yet he asks everything to be done in detail.

"I want the monorail project to be continued but it must be detail. It's very technical," said Jokowi at City Hall, Wednesday (8/20).

He acknowledged that PT JM could show the location design for the monorail, such as station location, pile location, etc.

"Those designs are still questionable," he expressed.

He cited station which will be built in Tanah Abang, Senayan City and Dukuh Atas on the west side, likewise with budgeting.

Besides design, Jokowi also asked PT JM to be able to make the proof, where they have the capital which is one of the requirements that was prompted by Jakarta Provincial Government as guarantee.

"Then there are also problems related to request regarding funding preparation and others in the form of a written material. We just ask for guarantee," he uttered.
