“From 800 companies exist, only 127 companies owned environmental documents and willing to build waste disposal facilities,” stated West Jakarta KLH Surveillance and Monitoring Section, Zaki, Friday (8/22).
According to Zaki, his party has repeatedly urged the remaining 673 companies to obey the rules by processing environmental documents and building waste plant.
Special Team Formed to Examine Jakarta Sea Pollution“If they kept ignoring it, certainly there will be sanctions applied,” he asserted.
Moreover, Zaki admitted that indeed air quality in West Jakarta continues to worsen. It happens because there are many companies do not have proper waste plant. In addition, the amount of vehicles also keeps increasing.
Based on West Jakarta KLH data, at this time there are four hazardous elements and compounds that are mixing and polluting the air. Those elements and compounds are carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide, lead, and particles with a diameter of 10 micrometers or less (PM10).
“Among the causes of air pollution are vehicle growth that keeps increasing every year plus people’s behavior by still using old cars,” told Zaki.
