Emission Test in South Jakarta Mayor Office, 18 Vehicles Failed

Head of South Jakarta KLH, Maspud, said the emission test was conducted to realize the blue sky program in accordance with Bylaw No. 2/2005 on Air Pollution Controlling and Governor Regulation No. 92/2007 on Motor Vehicle Emission Test. The test was participated by 125 vehicles.

According to Eka, the emission test officer, the required level of exhausting gas must meet a maximum level of CO of 1.5 percent and a maximum of HC of 200 ppm for premium-fueled cars above 2007 and its maximum level of CO should be 3.0 percent and the maximum of HC is 700 ppm. As for diesel-fueled vehicles, the eligible exhaust gas level should meet the opacity or thickness of up to 50 percent.

“We recommend the exhaust emission inspection to be carried out every six months by vehicle owners,” he said.
