People Crowd Thousand Islands over Eid Holiday

Recreational sites in Thousand Islands drew crowds over Eid holiday, recording 27,742 visitors from Friday (5/31) through Thursday (6/6). In overall, 596 out of them are foreign tourists.

Most depart from Kali Adem with 13,399 people heading Untung Jawa, Pari, Tidung, Pramuka and Harapan islands

Thousand Islands Tourism and Culture Sub-agency Head, Cucu Ahmad Kurnia stated that tourist arrival is through four ports, namely Kali Adem and Marina Ancol in North Jakarta, as well as Tanjung Pasir and Rawa Saban in Tanggerang.

"Most depart from Kali Adem with 13,399 people heading Untung Jawa, Pari, Tidung, Pramuka and Harapan islands," he expressed, Friday (6/7).

Its number would keep increasing until Saturday but would recede on Sunday along with the end of holidays and joint leave.

Seeing this, all lodging and home stays, which number around 1,000 units are full until this weekend

"Hopefully tourist can maintain cleanliness and obey the applicable rules, either on the ship or when traveling in the waters," he stressed.

Therefore Thousand Islands Regent Husein Murad plans to conduct arrangement gradually to support tourism in the future.

"We'll involve locals to make them be a good host and attract tourists back to visit," he uttered.
