Free Buses for City's 429nd Anniversary Celebration

PT Transjakarta is to set to provide free bus service today, Saturday (6/22), which is city's 429nd anniversary by serving 201 routes and deploying 2,500 fleets.

According to him, the Transjakarta has served 72% of the total population in Jakarta with an area of 429.96 km. The amount has increased compared to last year, which is 67% with an area of 438.8 km and 62% in 2017 along 394.6 km. 

"As of May 1, 7 out of 10 people already have access towards Transjakarta," he asserted, as quoted from the Jakarta PPID press release.

It is supported by the opening of the Transjakarta route to reach people in each region. As of May 2019, 210 routes have been served, up from the previous year's realization of 160, followed by the addition of buses operating.

In addition, the expansion of service coverage to housing and flat through JakLingko programs reached 24 routes. 

"Then the addition of intermodal transportation integration routes such as MRT, LRT and train," he told.

 

He added that the bus rapid transit (BRT) Transjakarta route is also added to increase Transjakarta's reach to the public.

As a results, it is able to parse traffic jam in Jakarta according to TomTom Index. From the data, jam level has dropped around 8% since last year.
