Next Year, SKTM is Not Guarantee to Get KJP Anymore

To combat cheating in getting the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP), the Jakarta Education Department keeps tightening the selection process for students who are eligible to get the KJP. Therefore, the use of relief letter (SKTM) to get the card will not be used anymore next year.

Head of Central Jakarta Primary Education Sub-Department, Sujadiyono urges the parents do not use the SKTM to get the KJP. This is because his sub-department plans to conduct survey first before determining the KJP recipients.

He disclosed that he found irregularities related to students (privileged children) who are not supposed to get the KJP.
"Those irregularities are like we found students where their parents work as Jakarta civil servant have still received the KJP and multiple card. This is shameful. If the system is online, the same identity cannot get the multiple card due to there is only one name on computer," he stated.
He expressed KJP proposal would also not depend on SKTM. It is based on experience in the field, in which most SKTM owners recommended by urban village were students from privileged family. "To prevent similar case, we will not use SKTM as KJP requirement anymore," he exclaimed.
Initially, Head of Jakarta Education Department, Lasro Marbun explained selection process for KJP recipient is initiated with teacher observation to students. Later on, the teacher then proposed the names of students who are eligible to get the KJP to the principal. Then, the principal and teacher council will discuss it further.
Afterwards, such names will be announced in in the list of temporary nominations. His side will then take about 7 days for the public to give their opinions and corrections, whether those are eligible or not.
