Diesel Fuel Run Out, Fishermen Protest in Muara Angke

Tens of fishermen came to the gas filling station (SPBU) 370115 in the Muara Angke Port, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Wednesday (8/26). While shouting and banging on jerrycans, they asked diesel fuel that since Wednesday (8/20) has run out at such gas station.
Heri Waluyo, (44), one of fishermen admitted post-Eid ul Fitr, his boat was stuck at Muara Angke Port because of long queue conducted by other boats to get diesel fuel. "All this time, I cannot make a living for my family. How could have money if we cannot sail for fishing," he lamented, Wednesday (8/27).
Fuel Supply Thinning, Gas Stations in East Jakarta ClosingChairman of Jakarta Indonesian Fishermen Association (HNSI), Yan Winata Sasmita said until now, there are 220 fishing boats in Muara Angke Port which cannot go to sea because diesel fuel ran out. "Predictably, the loss reaches hundreds of millions. If this condition is ignored, it would have an impact to fishermen's economy," he stated.
Head of Fishery Section for Jakarta Marine and Fishery Department, Liliek Litasari admitted she has known the problem faced by fishermen. Her side has also discussed on additional diesel fuel with other related units.
"I understand how the condition of the stock of fuel that has been thinned out, yet fishermen really need it. Hopefully, the best solution for all parties can be made as soon as possible," she hoped.
