Tidung Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands, cooperates with Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) to educate residents to use language properly and manage information well.

It is as important as maintaining and preserving local wisdom and culture

Tidung Urban Village Head, Cecep Suryadi informed, this training is run on July 24-25 with total 25 participants from karang taruna youths, tourist service agents, teachers, employees, and local residents.

"It is important to make sure our residents to know how to obtain and deliver information properly to the tourists. Thus they can filter information well and avoid hoax," he asserted, Wednesday (7/24).

In this training, participants are taught to collect the local folklore stories that it contains of heroic and historical values that can restore local character of Thousand Islands people, especially Tidung Island people.

"It is as important as maintaining and preserving local wisdom and culture," he stated.
