Former Head of Kramatjati Sub-District Back to Prison

East Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari) finally arrests former Head of Kramatjati Sub-District, Ucok Bangsawan Harahap, in Cipinang Prison for corruption case. Previously, the Corruption Court (Tipikor) has sentenced Harahap one year imprisonment for corrupting Rp 609.4 million. The modus he used was cutting the budget from 2009 until early 2013.

He is found guilty for corrupting the 2012 City Budget (APBD)

This is the second time Harahap arrested in Cipinang Prison. Previously, this former of West Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department Head had been arrested there during the investigation process. But because he returned the state’s money, he was released and became city detainee since February 14, 2014.

Arrived in East Jakarta Kejari office around 8 AM, Friday (8/29), Harahap looked bowed sluggish. Under the escort of five officers, he remained silence to the press when he was taken to detainee car B 8037 AI. And at 9 AM, he was brought to Cipinang Prison.

“Harahap is sentenced by Corruption Court with verdict number 25/PID.SUS/ TPK/2014/PN.JKT.PST dated July 15, 2014. In that verdict, he is found guilty for corrupting the 2012 City Budget (APBD),” stated Head of East Jakarta Kejari Special Crime Section, Sylvia Desti Rosalyna.

Because of Harahap’s action, the state suffers loss for as much as Rp 609.4 million. For that, he is charged with Article 3 Law No. 31/99 jo Law No. 20/2001 about Corruption.

“Tipikor’s verdict is dated July 15, 2014. Why we do the execution now? Because we just received the copy of that verdict on August 22,” explained Rosalyna.
