Anies Leads Ceremony to Commemorate Satpol PP's 69th Anniversary

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan acted as ceremony inspector in commemorating Pamong Praja Police Unit (Satpol PP)'s 69th Anniversary and Public Protection Unit (Satlinmas)'s 57th Anniversary at southern side of Merdeka Square, Monas, Central Jakarta.

Anies reminded Satpol PP personnel to enforce the law in a civilized and humanist way.

He expects Satpol PP can do their job and responsibility well through a positive interaction and good communication. He also hopes residents can understand that Satpol PP maintain public order and security for common interests.
"In the near future, there will be new policy implemented related to traffic management in Jakarta. Thus I hope all of you can help us to socialize it to residents and ensure them to travel safely. We should realize that many changes in community transportation pattern will be applied in Jakarta," he explained.
For information, there is an increase in number of public transport users for the past 2 years. Along 2017, total public transport user to reach 190 million people and it increases in 2018 with total 230 million people. Lastly, it reaches 280 million people in 2019. It means, number of public transport user is increased by 100 million people in two years.
He believes image of Jakarta will be Indonesia's image in international world. Thus Satpol PP holds an important role in realizing Jakarta as a safe, orderly, modern, cultured, and sustainable city.
"In the end, I want to congratulate you for Satpol PP's 69th Anniversary and Satlinmas' 57th Anniversary. We want you to devote yourself to your country by serving the others. Don't be tired to enforce the law and Regional Head Regulations. Be sure to be a strict yet humanist personnel whose presence gives a sense of ease. Praja Wibawa Satpol PP!," he said.
