Two-story Lavish House in Duren Sawit Burned

A two-story lavish house on Jalan Delima Raya, RT 06/05, Malakasari Urban Village, Duren Sawit Sub-District, East Jakarta, was burned this early morning, Wednesday (9/3), at 3.15 AM. There is no casualty in this incident, but the house owner suffers loss estimated up to Rp 200 million.

The fire enlarged so the residents were having trouble to extinguish it. Fortunately, the firemen quickly arrived at the location, thus fire did not spread to other houses next to it

Hardi (38), a local, said the fire first came from the ground floor of the house. When it happened, the house owner, Sujono (56), was asleep. Knowing there was fire, the locals rushed out of their houses and saved their valuables, while others tried to extinguish the fire. But, the fire kept grew bigger.

“The fire enlarged so the residents were having trouble to extinguish it. Fortunately, the firemen quickly arrived at the location, thus fire did not spread to other houses next to it,” he uttered.

Truck Transporting 15 Tons of Bored Piles Tumbled in Duren Sawit

The 12 fire trucks from East Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department deployed to the location had having difficulties to reach the location because there were many residents’ vehicles parked on roadsides. But, they successfully extinguished 45 minutes afterwards.

“We deployed 12 fire trucks. The fire was extinguished around 4 AM,” stated Head of East Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department Operation Section, Moelyanto.
