Houses to Be Renovated in Row Village Program Decreasing

The amount of houses to be renovated in the second phase of row village program in West Jakarta decreases drastically. From 1,360 houses proposed, only 251 houses approved. This is revealed after the evaluation and verification done found out that many houses did not meet requirements to accept the aid.

For phase II this year, there were 1,150 registered. But after we do evaluation and verification, it turns out there are only 251 houses meet the requirements to accept the aid

“For phase II this year, there were 1,150 registered. But after we do evaluation and verification, it turns out there are only 251 houses meet the requirements to accept the aid,” stated Head of West Jakarta Public Housing and Government’s Buildings Sub-Department, Rokhman Lizar, Friday (9/5).

However, Lizar denies such a thing happens because of the failure on row village program phase I last year. For information, from 367 houses renovated, there were five houses in RT 03-04, Kapuk Urban Village, Cengkareng Sub-District, which renovation did not finish until the deadline in mid March this year.

748 Households Crossed Out from Row Village Program

“It’s not because of that. The renovation of those five houses should have been finished on time. But because the money we gave was being misused by the house owners, the renovation work became long. But now, the renovation of those five houses has finished,” he uttered.

According to Lizar, the proposal of row village program phase II is being reviewed in province level. The 251 houses to be renovated are spread in four urban villages, namely RW 02 and 05 Kalianyar, RW 04 Tambora, Cengkareng Barat, and Cengkareng Timur.

To repair their houses, each house owner gets aid as much as Rp 1.5 million per square meter, with maximum land width is 36 meters, or about Rp 54 million per family.
