City to Hold Free Rabies Vaccination for Animals on October 1-9

The Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency is set to hold free rabies vaccination service fro animals on October 1-9.

So Jakartans, let's together care and commit to handling rabies

This free service that will be intensified in five cities and Thousand Islands District is one of the concrete steps to maintain the title of Rabies Free Jakarta.

"We do this to commemorate the World Rabies Day that falls on September 28," disclosed Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Security Sub-agency Secretary, Suharini Eliawati, Monday (9/30).

4,047 Animals in South Jakarta Vaccinated

Here are locations that hold free vaccination services:

1. West Jakarta

- Duri Kosambi Urban Village and Kalideres Urban Village, West Jakarta, on October 2-4

2. South Jakarta

- Pinang Pondok Urban Village on October 1

- Bumi Karang Indah Lebak Bulus Housing Complex on October 2

- Pesanggrahan Puspita Housing Complex on October 3

3. East Jakarta

- Pekayon Urban Village, Pekayon Urban Village and Metland Cakung Housing Complex on October 3

4. North Jakarta

- Sunter Agung Urban Village on October 2

- Rorotan Urban Village on October 3

5. Central Jakarta

- Sumur Batu Urban Village on October 2

- Kartini Urban Village on October 3

6. Thousand Islands

- Harapan Island Urban Village on October 7-9

"Especially in West Jakarta, the services provided are in the form of rabies vaccination and treatment," he explained.

He added that the Ministry of Agriculture has set Jakarta as a rabies free province since 2004. The active role of the community is the key to success in maintaining it.

"So Jakartans, let's together care and commit to handling rabies. Let's use the free rabies vaccination and sterilization services in your nearest location," he stated.
