Brake Failure, Metromini Hit Biker and a Car

A Metromini 79 (Blok M-Lebak Bulus) with license plate B 7951 EW hit a biker and a car on Jalan Dharmawangsa Raya, South Jakarta, Tuesday (9/9). Although the biker had been stuck under the Metromini, there is no casualty in this incident.

“The accident happened at 1.30 PM. The Metromini was already running unstably, right and left. And then, the motorcycle in front of it instantly got hit,” said Riyono, a security officer of a shop-house near the location.

After got hit, the motorcycle Yamaha Mio B 6156 WLB got under the Metromini and had been dragged for about 15 meters. Afterwards, the Metromini driven by Karso (50) hit a car Luxio AA 9244 RB.

Metromini Run Over a Student to Death

“Yes, (the Metromini was having) break failure. I was avoiding a biker with a passenger who is a kid. Turned out there was also a motorcycle on my right, so it got hit,” uttered Karso who is instantly secured to a security post to avoid mass rage.

The evacuation process of the biker from under the Metromini had met difficulties because he got stuck by the motorcycle which already wrecked. But thanks to the help from the locals, he does not suffer major injury, only got bruises on his hands and neck.

“The victim has been brought to Fatmawati Hospital, while the motorcycle and the Metromini were taken to South Jakarta Resort Police office. We’re still collecting data (on this accident),” stated South Jakarta Metro Resort Police Traffic Unit officer, Brig. Dani.
