The Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) says its boat has served around 53,017 passengers from and to Thousand Islands along January to September. From that number, 52,194 are served through the main route and 823 are through the support route or feeder.
There are 20 boats operated to serve people from land to Thousand Islands or vice versa.
Locals Appreciate Thousand Islands Inter-Island Boat Service"The boats that we operate include KM Kerapu (six units), KM Baru (six units), KM Catamaran (two units), KM Paus (one unit), KM Banawa Nusantara (two units) and school boat (three units)," expressed Jakarta Transportation Agency Head, Syafrin Liputo, Wednesday (10/23).
Then there are three main routes of boat service namely, Muara Angke-Untung Jawa-Lancang-Tidung, Muara Angke-Pari Island-Pramuka Island and Muara Angke-Kelapa Island-Sebira Island.
"This year we already operate six new boats to serve the main route," he told.
He added, for the boats on the track support includes Tidung Island-Payung Island-Lancang Island-Rawa Saban-Untung Jawa Island-Tanjung Pasir, Pari Island-Payung Island, Pari Island-Lancang Island, Pramuka Island-Tidung Island, Pramuka Island-Kelapa Island, Pramuka Island-Panggang Island, Pramuka Island-Pari Island, Pramuka Island-Payung Island, as well as Kelapa-Sebira Island.
"One boat serves one route, with details one trip has six boats in a day and two trips have nine boats in a day," he told.
They can cut down trip times between islands, including trips to Sebira Island, which is the outermost settlement island in Jakarta.
"To get there, we just take for 2.5 hours than before around 9-10 hours," he stated.
