Commission E Agrees Adjustments to Social Agency's Budget Proposal

The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD)'s Commission E, agreed adjustments to the Social Agency's budget proposal in the amount of Rp 419.48 billion from the initial ceiling by Rp 501 billion, on Thursday (10/31) evening.

Several proposed work programs were corrected for efficiency due to budget deficits

Jakarta DPRD's Commission E Chairman Iman Satria expressed, along with the agency, his party agreed to correct and revise the proposed budget submitted in the 2020 budget priorities and preliminary threshold (KUA-PPAS) in the amount of Rp 419.48 billion.

"Several proposed work programs were corrected for efficiency due to budget deficits," he expressed.

However the council wanted the handling of social problems for the poor and affected people in Jakarta to be optimally carried out.

"The efficiency of the proposed budget doesn't negate or reduce the main needs in handling social issues in the capital," he explained.

Jakarta Social Agency Head Irmansyah explained this proposed budget for meeting eight priority activities during the 2020 budget is meeting the basic needs of the elderly, children and displaced people with disabilities, providing physical aids for people with disabilities, self-help economic productive efforts and fostering the independence of adolescents in conflict-prone locations.

"In addition there is a program to control people with social and community issues (PMKS), awards for widows, pioneers of independence, data collection and processing of the poor and social aid and providing public kitchens for disaster victims," he stated.
