City to Disburse Rp 12.5 B to Bogor Regency Government

Jakarta Provincial Government is going to disburse grant fund as much as Rp 12.5 billion to Bogor Regency Government. Later, the fund will be used in flood handling program.

The fund will be used to normalize the upstream of Ciliwung River in Bogor Regency area

“The fund will be used to normalize the upstream of Ciliwung River in Bogor Regency area,” stated Bogor Deputy Regent, Nurhayanti, at City Hall, Friday (9/12).

According to Nurhayanti, Bogor Regency Government has demolished illegal buildings in the upstream of Ciliwung River. The upstream locations are in Cisarua, Megamendung, and Ciawi. Next, they will green those areas.

“Alhamdulillah (thank God), in 2015 we get financial aid as much as Rp 12.5 billion. Later, we’ll build bio-pores, bio-retentions, and do greenery plus middle stream. The greenery will be focused in four sub-districts, namely Sukaraja, Cibinong, Bojonggede, and Tajur Halang. It will play an important role in preventing flood in Jakarta,” she uttered.

In addition, Nurhayanti also told that Bogor Regency Government will also use the grant fund to build Situ Kabantenan and Situ Cikaret waterways.

“We’ll do that in Ciliwung watershed (DAS). Our priority is to normalize six dams there, so the water runs off to Jakarta could be controlled,” she explained.
