Thousands of Tax Arrears in East Jakarta Receive Summons

The East Jakarta Vehicle Taxes (PKB) and Vehicle Ownership Transfer Fees (BBNKB) Service Unit, sent 4,447 summons of motorcycle vehicle tax arrears to the East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar, Thursday (11/14).

Those arrears that have yet to register or pay taxes must immediately meet their obligations

Those summons were sent during a regional coordination meeting (rakorwil) in the East Jakarta Mayor Office's pattern room.

East Jakarta PKB BBNKB Sub-Division Head Hendro expressed that it was done as an effort to improve tax revenue achievements.

"Those arrears that have yet to register or pay taxes must immediately meet their obligations," he asserted.

According to him, if all pay, the potential value received from the tax arrears would be Rp 26.9 billion. In details, there were 39 motorcycle drivers in arrears by Rp 250.4 million and 4,408 car drivers in arrears by Rp 26,693,294,600.

East Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar uttered his party very supported the tax collection on the tax arrears.

In sending a tax collection letter, he stressed, each urban village and sub-district would get assistance from officers of the Regional Tax and Retribution Service Unit (UPPRD) in ten sub-districts.

"We'll sent summons to tax arrears through the sub-districts and urban villages," he said.
