The Jakarta Legislative Council (DPRD) Vice Chairman Mohamad Taufik says the regional apparatus organization (OPD) must be able to optimize the arrangement of the street vendors (PKL) in Kota Tua area, Taman Sari, West Jakarta.
It is a must, as the Kota Tua area is one of the leading tourist destinations in Jakarta that must be maintained neatness and comfort.
Merchants Involved in Discussion Regarding Kota Tua Arrangement Plan"We also want tourists who come to the Kota Tua to be able to see beauty, instead of slums," he expressed, Friday (11/22).
Its arrangement needs to be carried out comprehensively through the OPD and the existing stakeholders in Kota Tua area.
"They must coordinate with Satpol PP, KUKMP Agency, as well as Tourism and Culture Agency. We understand the PKL needs money but don't worry we will provide a location to sell," he explained.
The PKL must also promise to no longer sell in a public place after occupying a new place.
"If they ignore it, they will worsen the image of tourism in the capital," he stated.
