KBT Bridge Finally Repaired

Post-landslide incident at the bridge of East Flood Canal (KBT), Jalan Kelurahan 1, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, already in the repair. As many as five workers sent to the field repairing the end of the bridge as long as 4 meters and is targeted to be completed within five days.

Head of Supervision and Control Section for KBT's Technical Implementer Unit, Mustajab expressed landslide yesterday is caused by unstable soil and smaller stone structure mounted on the ends of KBT's bridge and sheet piles, making it easier for landslide.

"We use large river stones as wide as 30-40 centimeters to replace old stones in order to anticipate landslide in future," he expressed, Monday (9/15).

He added, if the repair is complete, a 10-meter-long BRC fence will be installed on the side of inspection roads. This is because many children of RT 09/01 and RT 01/11 Duren Sawit always pass the road and often used by transaction place by street vendors.

Due to this condition, the holes as long as 7 meters with 40 centimeters deep around the Ujung Menteng KBT, Cakung, are also patched by his side. 

"We patch up holes around the Ujung Menteng's KBT due to lots of puddles on the road and spills into the gutter, causing landslide at the KBT sheet piles. Whereas, its sheet pile had been repaired in 2010," he stated.
