We have removed the filter and hopefully it could recede immediately when the rain stops
North Jakarta SDA Sub-department Head, Adrian Mara Maulana explained, by removing the sluice filter, he hopes it could reduce inundation in Kelapa Gading, Koja, parts of Tanjung Priok, and most inundated areas in East Jakarta.
"We have removed the filter and hopefully it could recede immediately when the rain stops," he said, Wednesday (1/1).
Manggarai Sluice Gate is in Alert 2 StatusIn order to overcome inundation in Cilincing Sub-district, his side has activated the pumps at Bulak Cabe Pump House. However, because the sea level is rising, water from Cakung Drain is held upstream.
"We have closed several Cakung Drain River's sluice gates thus the water doesn't turn back into residential areas," he mentioned.
