How come Ombudsman missed it? I’m embarrassed seeing 30 temporary reports after they did investigation on public service quality

“How come Ombudsman missed it? I’m embarrassed seeing 30 temporary reports after they did investigation on public service quality,” expressed Saefullah at City Hall, Wednesday (9/17).

Based on Ombudsman findings in five sub-districts in Jakarta, it was found out that the illegal fees were reaching Rp 1.2 billion per year. Those findings were grouped in 30 exposures which conveyed to Jakarta Provincial Government.

The alleged SKPDs in which illegal fees found are Tourism and Culture Department as well as Cooperatives, Micro, Small and Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUMKMP) Department.

Therefore, Saefullah asked SKPDs not easily tempted in accepting bribe from anyone who wants to process licensing matters. Moreover, Jakarta Provincial Government is also improving public services by preparing One Door Integrated Services Board (BPTSP) starting from city level until sub-districts and urban villages. The purpose of it is to eliminate illegal fee and bribe during permit making process.

“Mostly from Ombudsman’s reports, that many SKPD and UKPD were tempted with money,” he told.
