Gulkarmat Handles Collapsed Building in West Jakarta

Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Department handled collapsed four-story building on Jalan Brigjen Katamso RT 04/09, Bambu Utara City, Palmerah, West Jakarta.

Jakarta Gulkarmat Department Operational Section Head, Mulyanto conveyed, his side received the report at 09:10 AM and deployed personnel to the location to ensure no victims both inside and outside the building.

"We deploy 75 personnel and 10 vehicle units," he mentioned, Monday (1/6).

Until now, Gulkarmat personnel are on standby on the location to ensure people do not approach the scene.

"Our personnel are on standby to ensure no people around the scene," he told.

Meanwhile, Afrizal, a witness, said that before the building collapsed, many parts of the building leaked. But, there is no sign that the building will collapse.

"I heard something from the top, then I instruct all to go out. One minute later, it collapses," he informed.

According to him, from total four floors, only the 1st floor that is used for activities. While 2nd and 3rd floors are used for rest and warehouse.

"There are 13 people inside the building. 10 personnel and 3 customers," he conveyed.
