In Central Jakarta, he continued, there are no puddles and displaced citizens, including in North Jakarta but there are still 20 people evacuated. Similar condition is also spotted in South Jakarta yet 19 people are still evacuated.

"In East Jakarta, inundation has receded but we still see 200 refugees," he continued.

He explained most of the floods in Jakarta are caused by the overflowing waters of Ciliwung River, Sunter River, Angke River, Pesanggrahan River, West Flood Canal (KBB) and tidal flooding. In addition, the government has siphoned off puddles with 478 pump units spread across 176 locations.

"22 portable pumps are also deployed there," he said.
