Health Department Provides Comprehensive Services for Flood Victims

Jakarta Health Department provide comprehensive services for flood victims in the shelters by building health posts in urban villages that affected by floods.

We also hold health counseling and socialization thus they can be careful towards post-flood diseases

Jakarta Health Department Head, Widyastuti stated, her side built health posts in settlements, bus shelters, evacuation shelters, and worship houses where flood victims evacuate.

"Health posts are provided to facilitate flood victims in getting medical assistance and our team will ensure them to get access to health services," she mentioned, Saturday (1/11).

Citizens Encouraged to Maintain Healthy Living Behavior

Besides health posts, her side also opens counseling and gives health socialization in shelters.

"We also hold health counseling and socialization thus they can be careful towards post-flood diseases," she conveyed.

Moreover, trauma healing is also given to children in the shelters through health education and games such as snake and ladders game and storytelling.

"Trauma healing is give to reduce psychological trauma towards post-disaster children," she added.

In this chance, Health Department not only serves flood victims but also people who participate in post-flood cleaning, such as PPSU personnel.

"We also distributes masks as a preventive way to avoid disease," she said.

Furthermore, Jakarta Health Department takes a part in disinfection of locations affected by flood by distributing disinfection liquid, health team also assists the locals in conducting disinfection.

"It is important to eradicate bacteria in order to prevent the spread of post-flood diseases," she explained.
