Dinkes Intensifies Disinfectans Spraying in Flood-stricken Locations

The Jakarta Health Agency intensifies disinfectants spraying in flood-stricken locations in Jakarta.

We focus on bathrooms and latrines, shelter, floors and furniture

It aims to kill germs carried by floods, break the chain of disease transmission, and eliminate rotten smell.

"We focus on bathrooms and latrines, shelter, floors and furniture," disclosed Jakarta Health Agency Head, Widyastuti, Wednesday (1/8).

Disinfectant Spraying Conducted in Pegangsaan Dua

As for locations that are difficult to reach, her agency will mix the disinfectant in water with the help of spraying by the Parks Agecy and the Fire and Rescue Agency.

The agency also distributed disinfectants and educated how to use it to locals and schools through puskesmas medics.

"So far all sub-districts have done it and we hope that all citizens are healthy after the flood," she explained.

To spray disinfectants, the security side must be considered first such as wearing a mask or a protective glass and a rubber glove. After it is finished, rinse any part of the body affected by concentrated disinfectant fluid with clean running water.

"Make a disinfectant solution according to the amount printed on the package. Its fluid is used to be sprayed evenly on the floor and room that is cleaned, as well as wipe the furniture," she said.
