25 Tebakar di Kebon Kacang, Kerugian di Perkirakan mencapai Rp Tiga Milyar

Fire Victims 'Children' in Tanah Abang Need School Uniform

Tens of fire victims, especially children, living on Jalan Kebon Kacang, RT 03/08, Tanah Abang, Central Jakarta, truly need aid in form of school uniform, books, and stationery. Considering fire had burned their all school equipments on Saturday (9/20). Based on the latest data, there consist of 20 students of Elementary School, 11 students of Junior High School, and 6 students of Senior High School.

"Our children need school equipments. But for food and blanket, we have received it last night from Tanah Abang Sub-District apparatus," said Tarno (40), one of fire victims, Sunday (9/21).

Currently, around 300 fire victims had to take refuge at a multi-purpose building of Tanah Abang Flat. Thus far, Tanah Abang Sub-District has distributed aid to them, ranging from food, blanket, and toiletry.

"Especially for students, we will immediately distribute school uniform and other needs thus they could go to school as usual," said Head of Tanah Abang Sub-District Social Section, Burhanuddin.

As known, fire razed 25 homes occupied by 47 households at Jalan Kebon Kacang, RT 03/08, Tanah Abang, Saturday (9/20).

Head of Operational Section for Central Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Sudarno disclosed that fire occurred at around 10.30 PM. Fire quickly grew up and spread from one home to the next homes. 

"Temporary allegation, fire is triggered by electricity short-circuit from one home. The loss is predicted reaching Rp 3 billion," he reported.

As many as 22 fire trucks deployed to the scene. Luckily, there were no casualties reported in the incident.
