"A safe septic tank should be water proof, thus waste water doesn't seep into the ground. Besides, it needs to be equipped with control hole and air ventilation," he said, Tuesday (1/28).

He continued, septic tank should also have inlet and outlet pipes. Importantly, it should be desludged at least once every three years.
