70 Percent of Damaged Roads in Central Jakarta Repaired

Around 70 out of 300 percent of damaged roads and sidewalks in some points in Central Jakarta have finally been repaired by Central Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department. Those were damaged after being hit by rainwater.

As many as 200 points in 8 sub-districts and 44 urban villages were already repaired. They are Jalan Salemba Raya, Gunung Sahari, Pasar Baru, Jalan Mas Mansyur, Batu Ceper, Pecenongan, Batu Tulis, Jalan Letjen Suprapto towards Senen, and Rawa Sari Timur.
60 Damaged Roads in N. Jakarta Repaired"Thus far we only repaired 200 damaged roads, like potholes and damaged sidewalks," said Head of Road Maintenance Section for Central Jakarta Road Public Works Sub-Department, Agustio Ruhuseto, Tuesday (8/26).
Ruhuseto admitted his sub-department keeps trying to repair 100 other damaged roads and is hoped will be finished at the end of September. "Our problem is just lack of personnel in the field, but we continue to try finish the repair at the end of September," he uttered.
The current number of officers in the field is only 21 people. Hence, its number would be added in a bid to speed up repair process. "We plan to add between 60-80 officers in the field thus the rest damaged roads could already be repaired at the end of September," he told.
He continued Rp 2.5 billion is spent to repair those damaged roads. "Each year, we always receive Rp 10 billion from unpredictable budget. And to repair 300 damaged roads, we use Rp 2.5 billion, while the rest will be used to repair other damaged roads in future," he explained.
