18 Houses Affected by Landslide in Pegangsaan, Logistic Aid Distributed for The Victims

Menteng Sub-district distributed logistic aid for 18 owners of houses affected by landslide at RW 07, Pegangsaan.

We have coordinated with BBWSCC because this area is under their authority

Menteng Sub-district Head, Edi Suryaman mentioned, landslide happened due to high rainfall intensity since Sunday (2/23). It caused landslide on the banks of Ciliwung River Tributary in Pegangsaan, Menteng.

"Landslide also triggered by residents' houses which are built around 9-15 meters on the river banks," he stated, Friday (2/28).

BMKG Predicts Extreme Weather to Occur Until March 2020

His side distributed logistic aid such as mineral water, blanket, rice, and instant noodles for the victims. Currently, the victims have evacuated to their relatives' houses that are located not far from the location.

"We have coordinated with BBWSCC because this area is under their authority," he said.

Moreover, his side will also coordinate with Jakarta Public Housing and Settlements (PRKP) Department to relocate those 18 families to stay in public housing.

"It is still difficult for heavy equipment to reach the landslide location," he mentioned.
