LH Appreciates Companies Promoting Eco-Friendly Containers

Jakarta Environment (LH) Department appreciated companies that encouraged the use of eco-friendly containers thus disposable plastic waste could be minimized.

They took the initiative to launch the main program called #GoGreener that provides special bag used for GoFood service

Jakarta LH Department Head, Andono Warih stated, one of the companies that provided eco-friendly bag is PT. Aplikasi Karya Anak Bangsa (Gojek).

According to him, this program is in line with Jakarta Government's efforts in reducing plastic waste which is regulated in Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 142/2019 concerning the Obligation to Use Eco-Friendly Shopping Bag (KBRL).

"We appreciate Gojek company that take an initiative and commit to reduce disposable plastic use through their policies," he mentioned.

He assessed that all sides are responsible for preserving the environment. Thus Jakarta Government collaborates with various sides.

"Hopefully, Gojek and its drivers can be an environmental pioneer and role model for other business actors," he conveyed.

In the other hand, Vice President of Jabodetabek Region Operation at Gojek, Gede Manggala mentioned, his side provided special bag for GoFood drivers as the ambassador for the environment.

"It is an eco-friendly bag that is used especially for GoFood service to increase our driver's productivity and reduce disposable plastic use," he asserted.

 

This eco-friendly bag, he informed, has a good quality with bigh capacity to store hot or cold foods, water splash resistant, easy to fold thus it is flexible for drivers when they want to carry passenger.

"We also encourage eco-friendly lifestyle by providing feature thus customers can choose to use disposable cutlery or not," he said.
