Area Under Kampung Melayu Flyover to Be Interactive Park

Jakarta Provincial Government keeps building interactive parks for the citizens. After transforming the area under Klender Flyover, next location to be transformed into interactive park is the area under Kampung Melayu Flyover.

The area under Kampung Melayu Flyover will first be controlled before transformed into interactive park like the one under Klender Flyover

Head of East Jakarta Parks Sub-Department, Suzi Marzitawati, said her department is currently measuring and designing the right model for sporting facilities in that location.

“The area under Kampung Melayu Flyover will first be controlled before transformed into interactive park like the one under Klender Flyover. However, the design in Kampung Melayu is different to Klender because the land is wider,” she stated, Friday (9/26).

No TPS, Under Klender Flyover Strewn by Waste Piles

For information, the area under Klender Flyover is as wide as 2,700 square meters, while the area under Kampung Melayu Flyover is 3,000 square meters. In the later location, the interactive park will be equipped with sporting facilities, such as outdoor fitness and futsal court, as well as children’s playground.

Based on beritajakarta.com observations, the area under Kampung Melayu Flyover is now chaotic. At the west side of Kampung Melayu Terminal, many park separators are missing and people with social welfare issues (PMKS), who have been controlled numerous times by Jatinegara Sub-District apparatuses, are rampant. While at the east side, it becomes parking lot for trash carriages and used goods pileups. A dumpsite is also located there.
