Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan, formed the COVID-19 Quick Handling Task Force in Jakarta by issuing the Gubernatorial Regulation number 328/2020, on Tuesday (3/17).

He explained that the task force had a relatively similar function to the response team. Yet the City Secretary Saefullah would lead the task force team with members comprising ranks of Jakarta Provincial Government, Forkopimda, as well as elements of society such as health associations and media and public relations associations.

"The previous response team consists of ranks of city government or related SKPD. But now, with quick handling task force, we will involve army-police and forkopimda, including the Polda, Pangarmabar, High Prosecutors' office and High Court. There are also broader elements of society. Especially the elements representing health associations, media and public relations associations," he explained.

By doing so, he hoped that COVID-19 handling in the capital could be coordinated across sectors thus it was faster and more comprehensive. In addition, the team would also coordinate with the task force team at national level that is led by the BNPB.
