Nakertrans Reopens Registration for Employees Affected by COVID-19

Jakarta Manpower, Transmigration (Nakertrans) and Energy Agency reopens the online registration for employees who have been laid off and sent home without pay (unpaid leave) as an impact of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.

Deadline to register for the second period is until April 9, 2020

Nakertrans and Energy Agency Head, Andri Yansyah informed, people who meet the situation above can register via website bit.ly/pekerjaterdampakcovid19-2.

"Deadline to register for the second period is until April 9, 2020. Those who have registered on the previous period are prohibited to join the second," he asserted, Wednesday (4/8).

Regarding to this, his side has socialized via WhatsApp blast to the related sides, such as  worker unions and federations, APINDO, Kadin, members of wage council, and other association leaders.

He explained, his side has noted that as many as 18,045 companies and 202,584 workers (including laborers) were affected by COVID-19. In detail, 30,137 workers were laid off and the other 172,447 were sent home without pay.

"It was the total number of workers from 2 April until today," he said.

According to him, those data are categorized as dynamic data. Thus he apppreciated central government for giving the second chance to those who haven't register yet.

"In this case, I hope the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs is still open for registration to support Pre-Employment Card program," he said.
