Ahead Ramadan, East Jakarta KPKP: Food Stocks are Safe

East Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture, and Food Security (KPKP) Sub-agency ensures food stock is safe during Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) period.  

So far, food stocks are safe

East Jakarta KPKP Sub-agency Head, Yuli Absari conveyed, his side will also intensify food monitoring on the field ahead of Ramadan.

"So far, food stocks are safe. For rice, it is still safe until five months ahead, as well as for sugar," she informed, Thursday (4/16).

City Called to Anticipate Food Price Hikes Ahead of Ramadan

Besides, she added, staple food prices in traditional market are relatively stable.

"We also coordinate with market heads to make sure no rogue trader," she mentioned.

Regarding food monitoring, her side will not only make sure the food are safe from hazardous substances, but also maintain food prices in the market. So far, no violation have been found, especially the use of hazardous substances in agricultural, fishery, and livestock products.

Generally, she considered staple food prices are relatively stable, except for shallot price which rose from Rp 40,000 into Rp 50,000 per kg. While curly red chili's price dropped from Rp 45,000 into Rp 35,000 per kg.

Other commodities prices are stable, for example garlic at Rp 45,000/kg; broiler chicken Rp 35,000 for whole chicken; meat Rp 110,000/kg.
