Jakarta Regional Earnings Board (Bapenda) provides incentives to reduce local tax payment for taxpayers (WP), in this case entrepreneurs, to ease the economic burden due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Abolition of sanctions for late fines and tax principal reduction for entrepreneurs are valid until May 29, 2020

Jakarta Bapenda's Revenue I Division Head, Yuspin conveyed there are 11 types of taxes namely, Land and Building Tax on Rural and Urban Areas (PBB-P2), Building Acquisition Fee (BPHTB), restaurant tax, entertainment tax, hotel tax, parking tax, billboard tax, vehicle tax, vehicle-ownership transfer fee, fuel tax, and groundwater tax.

"We provide incentives in form of abolition of sanctions for late fines and tax principal reduction up to 50 percent,"she informed, Tuesday (4/21).

He informed, reduction of regional taxes and levies for entrepreneurs is regulated on Article 22 of Gubernatorial Regulation (Pergub) No. 33/2020 concerning the Large-scale Social Restrictions (PSBB) Implementation in Handling Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in DKI Jakarta.

"Many entrepreneurs are highly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and PSBB implementation. Thus Jakarta Government provides variety of stimulus," she mentioned.

According to her, Jakarta Bapenda Head has issued circular related to the abolition of sanctions for late fines and tax principal reduction as an implementation of Pergub No. 33/2020.

"Abolition of sanctions for late fines and tax principal reduction for entrepreneurs are valid until May 29, 2020," she stated.
