PSBB, City Releases Three Policies to Relieve Taxpayers

We make these policies to ease the burden on the community in paying taxes and to boost overall regional tax revenue

The Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) has issued three policies to be able to assist residents in completing their obligations to pay taxes. It is because the PSBB, which limits their activities outside the home, can cause delays in paying local taxes.

"We make these policies to ease the burden on the community in paying taxes and to boost overall regional tax revenue," Jakarta Bapenda Acting Head, Edi Sumantri, Monday (4/27), as quoted by Jakarta PPID's press release.

In more detail, the three policies are:

1. The first policy is the abolishment of regional tax administration sanctions as a result of tax administration violations. Sanctions such as late payment of tax principal, late reporting taxes, fines, etc.

It is valid since April 3 to May 29 and provided automatically by the system for all types of local taxes without exception. Thereby, taxpayers do not need to submit an application to get this facility. This policy can be evaluated and adjusted based on considerations regarding the application of emergency response status in Jakarta area.

2. The second policy is no increase in payments on urban and rural land and building tax (PBB-P2) in 2020 (the same as PBB-P2 in 2019). There is also the abolishment of administrative sanctions for late payment of arrears in previous years from April 3 to May 29. It is compliance with Gubernatorial Regulation number 30/2020 on Imposition of PBB-P2 for 2020.

3. The third policy is a reduction in regional taxes, especially to business actors affected by the PSBB. It can be applied to all types of taxes, namely PBB-P2, vehicle taxes (PKB), vehicle ownership transfer fees (BBNKB), building and land acquisition tax (BPHTB), hotel tax, restaurant tax, entertainment tax, parking tax, billboard tax, groundwater and fuel taxes (PBB-KB).

Further, as an alternative to paying local taxes, such as PBB-P2 during PSBB can be done through banking services namely, Bank DKI, BRI, BNI, Mandiri, BTN, BRI Syariah, BCA, Danamon, CIMB Niaga, MNC Bank, Bukopin, Maybank, BJB, Mega and OCBC NISP.

It can also be done through Indonesian Post Office, Indomaret, Alfamart, Dan+Dan, Tokopedia, Traveloka, LinkAja!, Bukalapak and GoPay.

Even, residents can also use payments through online tax services through taxonline.jakarta.go.id or the National Samsat Online (Samolnas) app.

His party again appealed to taxpayers to use policies wisely thus could be helped in paying off their tax obligations, but also continued to obey the government's instructions to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak.

"Hopefully they make PBB-P2 payments for 2020 before maturity," he hoped.
