PSBB, No Tourists Visit Resort Islands Yet

Thousand Islands has opened access for tourists who want to visit resort islands since Monday (5/18), but until today, there is no visitors even on Eid holiday (May 24-25).

Currently, there is no demand. Besides, no one dares to open their business because the cost is expensive

Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad mentioned, several resort islands management have promoted tourism packages but no one is interested due to COVID-19.

"Currently, there is no demand. Besides, no one dares to open their business because the cost is expensive and they should meet the health protocols," he explained, Saturday (5/30).

Untung Jawa Island Urban Village, South Thousand Islands, Supriyadi conveyed the similar thing. After monitoring two resort islands in his region, Bidadari Island and Ayer Island, the management said that there were no guests yet.

"They have to implement PSBB procedures, even though the employees are still laid off, waiting for conditions to return to normal," he stated.
